I have a personality that lends itself to any broadcast. I'm skilled, trustworthy, and I have a proven record of engaging and growing an audience.
-
I move shows . Newscasts that I'm regularly on move to, maintain, or grow the number one in their time slot. I've brought shows their first number one ratings for the first time in their history.

I firmly believe that being civically active in my community is a major part of my job description. My philosophy is, "If you can see me, I can go and see you." no matter how far. I rarely turn down an appearance opportunity. My viewers are very important to me.

I have experience in all kinds of weather from extensive hurricane coverage in Hurricanes Gustav, Ike, and Isaac; to the major recent drought and heat wave in Texas; to the extreme winters of New England and midwestern blizzards.

I have been in television for just about as long as I can remember. I remember as a kid my dad asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up. I turned towards the television and told him “I want to do that.” and WKRP in Cincinnati was on. He said, “Be on the radio?” and I said, “No be on television.” He was disappointed. He wanted me to be a Senator. I was in high school when I got my first big break on television as one of the 4 hosts of the “Fox Kids Club” in Wichita, Kansas. I was on everyday introducing cartoons afterschool from locations all over Kansas. I also interned at almost every TV station in Wichita’s news department. For fun. I was a bit of a news nerd in school. But I always had a LOVE of weather, and I always say I have been in weather since I was about 3 years old, when my parents claim my first comments about the weather were made from a car seat as my parents toured Amarillo after a tornado.

I don’t have a hometown and here’s why: I’m a Texan by birth. I was born in Plano. Then I lived in Aurora, CO; Columbia, MD; Syracuse, NY; back to Columbia; Wichita and Manhattan, KS; Chester, Colonial Heights, Winchester, Herndon, and Ashburn, Virginia; Memphis, TN; Monroe, LA; Yonkers, NY; Austin, TX and Shreveport, LA. The USA is my hometown. This is why I love the weather. So many places, so many climates, SO MUCH WEATHER and I’ve been through it all.
It was 10 years after graduating with my BA in Journalism Mass Communications that I was encouraged by a colleague in Memphis to pursue my lifelong dream of being a Meteorologist. So thanks to that colleague and my first weather producing opportunity during the lighting of the Christmas Blue Lights at Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, I applied to Mississippi State University, got in, and between life and jobs I finished up my course of study and now I’m very proud to be counted among the ranks of lifesaving station scientists.
I'd like to thank Elvis....
What I'm part of...
It’s weather, food, football. Kind of in that order. But may change depending on several circumstances. :) I love everything about my alma mater Kansas State University (EMAW!), and I’m a proud soror of Zeta Phi Beta (Z-Phi!). I’m also a member of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association.
